Gators participate in Polar Bear Plunge


Annapolis, Md. - Five Notre Dame of Maryland University student-athletes and Director of Athletics Erin Foley participated in the 16th Annual Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge on Saturday, January 28. Proceeds of the Polar Bear Plunge benefit Special Olympics Maryland. Division III schools across the nation have been supporting Special Olympics all year long and fellow 45 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) student-athletes, coaches, athletic administrators, and school administrators, took part in the 2012 Eastern Polar Plunge at Neshaminy State Park in Bensalem, Pa. to benefit Pennsylvania's Special Olympics.

Participants from Notre Dame included (pictured left to right), freshman Lindsey Miller (Baltimore/Sparrows Point) and junior Molly Murray (Aberdeen) of the field hockey and lacrosse teams; junior softball player Cara Corsaro (Manchester/North Carroll); junior soccer/lacrosse player Allison Terry (Towson/Baltimore Catholic) and freshman field hockey/softball player Ashley Fallon (Baltimore/Kenwood).
