BALTIMORE, MD - College of Notre Dame tennis pushed its overall record to 4-7 with a 7-2 victory over visiting Hood Friday afternoon in a non-conference matchup.
The Gators started the match automatically up 3-0 after the Blazers came to the courts with just four student-athletes. In doubles action, junior Madeleine Foster and sophomore Steph Thackoordeen won a 8-6 battle against the team of Dani Hunt and Kameran Evans.
Freshman Kelcy Bye earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles while Foster topped Hunt at No. 3 singles, 2-6, 6-4, 10-5. Thackoordeen also won her singles match at No. 4 over Evans, 6-1, 7-6 (7-5).
The Gators return to Colonial States Athletic Conference play on Saturday with a 1 p.m. match at Keystone.
