ROSEMONT, PA - College of Notre Dame tennis dropped a 7-2 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) tennis match at Rosemont Thursday afternoon. The Gators slipped to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in CSAC play while the Ravens evened their record to 3-3 and stay unbeaten in CSAC play at 3-0.
Junior Madeleine Foster and sophomore Steph Thackoordeen earned their first doubles win of the season at No. 2 with a thrilling 9-7 win over Rosemont's team of Kate Clarkson and Lauren Rivera. Kelcy Bye improved to 2-0 on the season at No. 2 singles with a 2-1 win before opponent Olesya Kuchma retired in the middle of the first set.
Clarkson slipped past Thackoordeen at No. 4 singles with a three set, 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 win while Foster also fell in a hearbreaker to Karis Coad at No. 3 singles, 6-7 (0-7), 6-4, 10-5. Junior Manda Hollister also came up just short in a three set matchup at No. 5 against Barbara Lally by scores of 6-1, 3-6, 6-2.
The Gators will host non-conference opponent Catholic on Thursday afternoon.
