Allentown, PA – College of Notre Dame Tennis was successful in the top two flights of singles play Saturday afternoon in their final regular season match against Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Cedar Crest College.
Kelcy Bye (Parkton, MD/Hereford) took on Cedar Crest’s Sarah Wicks at #1 singles. The sophomore won a close opening set 7-5 and then struggled in the second set allowing Wicks to tie the match. Bye fought for every point in the decisive third set and out hit her opponent down the stretch for a 12-10 win. Bye finishes the season at 7-4 overall and 6-4 in conference play in the top singles flight.
Senior Madeleine Foster (Annapolis, MD/St. Mary’s) logged a 2-0 over Cedar Crest's Alexandria Kueble for College of Notre Dame at number two singles. The two athletes were equally matched in the opening set with Foster winning the first set 7-6 after triumphing in the tie-breaker 7-3. The senior closed out the match with a 6-2 final set
College of Notre Dame finishes the season 1-11 overall and 1-9 in Colonial States Athletic Conference play.
