Immaculata, PA – Immaulata University bests College of Notre tennis, 5-4, in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match.
The two teams squared off in the three doubles matches to open up an afternoon of play. The pair of Kelcy Bye (Parkton, MD/Hereford) and Madeline Foster (Annapolis, MD/St. Mary’s) recorded the Gators first point, with an 8-3 win at the #1 doubles position.
College of Notre Dame would pick up wins in the top three singles matches. Foster was a part of the most exciting match of the today at #2 singles. The senior won a close three set match to give the College of Notre Dame their second win. Foster fell in a first set tie-breaker, but picked up the second set 6-4. With the match locked a one set each, Madeline and Immaculata’s Theresa Martini would trade points for much of the set. Foster secured her match with an 11-9 third set victory.
Christina Rose (Waldorf, MD/Henry E. Lackey) secured a win for College of Notre Dame with a #3 singles win 6-3, 6-4, while Bye would pick up a point in the #1 singles slot, shutting out her opponent 6-0, 6-0.
College of Notre Dame will face CSAC opponent Marywood University on Saturday afternoon at 12p.m.
