Baltimore, Md. -- Notre Dame of Maryland University garnered two match victories in a nonconference match with in-state rival Hood College, but ultimately dropped the overal team match to the Blazers 7-2.
In doubles action, junior
Celeste' Holmes-Tate (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill Academy) and freshman
Elizabeth Tran (Clarksville, Md.) teamed to take the No. 1 doubles spot, winning 8-3.
Freshman Natalie Smith (San Diego, Calif./Point Loma) took home the No. 5 singles position, claiming the match 8-2.
The Gators will now return to action on Friday as they will travel to Colonial States Athletic Conference foe Rosemont College. The team will return to the Notre Dame Tennis Courts on Saturday to face CSAC rival Baptist Bible College in what will also serve as the teams annual "Pink Game."
