Baltimore, Md.  --  Notre Dame of Maryland University claimed their first victory of the season by defeating Trinity Washington University 6-3 Friday evening.   On Saturday, the Gators returned to Colonial States Athletic Conference play and hosted Marywood University.  

Sophomores Carrie Naylor (Elkridge, Md./Mount de Sales) and Natalie Smith (San Diego, Calif./Point Loma) partnered to take the No. 1 Doubles position, winning 8-4.  The No. 2 Doubles pair of sophomores Liz Tran (Clarksville, Md.) and Kaitlyn Sommer (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Catholic) picked up an 8-1 victory. 

  In singles action, the four sophomores also picked up wins.  Tran took home her first victory of the year at the No. 1   Singles spot while Naylor won her second match at No. 2 Singles.  Smith picked up her fourth No. 3 Singles victory while Sommer won her first No. 4 Singles matchup of the season.    

  In Saturday's match, Naylor led the way with five games won from her No. 2 Singles spot.  The match also served as the team's Pink Game, an annual match where the team wears pink as a way to help raise awareness to the fight against breast cancer.  

  The tennis team will now play host to Rosemont College for another CSAC matchup on Friday.  The Gators then hit the road by taking on CSAC rival Cedar Crest College on Saturday.
