Gwynedd Valley, Pa. -- The defending Colonial States Athletic Conference tennis champion Gwynedd Mercy University demonstrated why they are expected to contend again after defeating Notre Dame of Maryland University 9-0 in conference play.
Sophomore
Liz Tran (Clarksville, Md.) took the first set in her No. 1 Singles spot to lead the Gators.
Notre Dame will return to action Friday by travelling to CSAC foe Immaculata University and will host in-state rival McDaniel College on Saturday in the squad's first non conference contest of the season.
