Clarks Summit, Pa. -- The tennis team for Notre Dame of Maryland University travelled to Colonial States Athletic Conference rival Baptist Bible College to open their season, but fell to the host Defenders 6-3.
Sophomore
Natalie Smith (San Diego, Calif./Point Loma) and freshman
Catherine Bruzdzinski (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Lutheran) each posted wins in their singles match. Smith claimed victory at No. 3 Singles while Bruzdzinski took the No. 6 Singles spot.
In doubles action, sophomores
Liz Tran (Clarksville, Md.) and
Kaitlyn Sommer (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Catholic) took home the No. 2 Doubles position.
The Gators will return to action on Sunday as they host CSAC foe Keystone College for the squads first match of the season at the Notre Dame Tennis Courts.
