BALTIMORE, Md. – The Gators improved to 2-0 on the year today, after defeating the Rosemont Ravens 8-1. 

Notre Dame swept doubles play to start the match. Seniors Elizabeth Tran and Carrie Naylor scored an 8-3 No. 1 doubles victory. Senior Natalie Smith paired with classmate Kaitlyn Sommer and earned an 8-0 No. 2 doubles victory, while junior Morgan Harter and sophomore Sandy Vo combined for an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles. 

After falling in No. 1 singles, the Gators won their next five singles matches to secure the win. Naylor earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 2 flight, while Sommer scored a 6-1, 6-0 No. 3 singles victory. 

Smith won her No. 4 singles match in straight sets. Vo and Harter finished strong with wins in their No. 5 and 6 singles matches, respectively. 

The Gators will have a tough matchup tomorrow against the Colonial States Athletic Conference tournament runner-up, Marywood Pacers. 

The Pacers got off to a hot start after opening their season with sweeps against Clarks Summit and Cedar Crest but came out on the short end tonight in their CSAC Championship rematch with the Gwynedd Mercy Griffins, as the Pacers fell 7-2. 

Tomorrow's match against Marywood is set to start at 1 p.m.
