Box Score RESULTS BALTIMORE, Md. – Notre Dame tennis secured their first conference win of the season Saturday afternoon, defeating Neumann University. Notre Dame went down 2-1 after doubles play, but went 5-1 in singles to defeat the Knights, 6-3.
Seniors
Sandy Vo and
Catherine Bruzdzinski got the Gators on the board first, winning their No. 1 doubles, 8-1. Vo and Bruzdzinski went on to win their singles play, Vo 6-2, 6-1, and Bruzdzinski 7-6, 6-2.
Freshman
Ceida Portillo posted her first win of her career. After dropping the first set, 2-6, she rallied back to win the next two, 6-2, 6-1. Freshman
Beedhya Rai also recorded her first career victory in three sets (3-6, 6-4, 10-4).
Senior
Ashley Guy won her second consecutive No. 5 singles. She didn't drop a set winning, 6-0, 6-0.
The Gators will finish their three match weekend tomorrow as they host Immaculata University at Emmorton Recreation Center in Bel Air, Md. The match is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start. See below for directions to the match.
