Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. – Notre Dame tennis traveled to crosstown rival, Goucher College on Tuesday afternoon for a break in their conference schedule. The match was originally scheduled for last month, but inclement weather pushed the match into April. The Gophers took control of the match opening to a 3-0 doubles victory before heading into singles play. First, third, and fourth singles managed to take games from the Gophers, but Notre Dame eventually dropped the match, 9-0.
In first singles, senior
Sandy Vo scored two game victories, but fell in the first set, 6-2 and then 6-0 in the second. Freshman
Ceida Portillo also took two games in her opening third singles set, but lost the match, 6-2, 6-1.
Notre Dame will travel to Cairn University on Friday to start their last push in conference play. On Saturday against Gwynedd Mercy, seniors
Catherine Bruzdzinski, Vo, and
Ashley Guy will be honored before the start of the match. Notre Dame will be hosting a Gator Rally down at the tennis courts where brunch will be served starting at 11:30 pm.
