Tennis Scores First Victories at TWU

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Notre Dame tennis is in the win column after scoring two victories on the road at Trinity Washington University.  The Gators were previously schedule to host the Tigers last week, but inclement weather moved their meeting to today for a doubleheader.

MATCH 1
In their first match of the day, the Gators scored a 5-4 victory, posting wins in first and second doubles and first, second, and fourth singles matches.

Freshman Isabella Dallasta and sophomore Beedhya Rai nabbed first doubles in straight sets, 8-0.  The team's first doubles victory of the season.  In second doubles, the juniors Nnenne Odukwu and Davida Rogers secured a close victory, 8-6. 

Dallasta also scored a straight sets victory in first singles, 8-0.  This was her third first singles victory this season.  In second singles, Rai scored her first victory of the season, 8-1.

Rogers also notched her first win of the season at fourth singles, 8-3.

MATCH 2
In their second game of their doubleheader against the Tigers, the Gators added one more match victory, 6-3.

Dallasta and Rai scored their second first doubles victory of the day in straight sets, 8-0.  Odukwu and Rogers in second doubles notched their second victory as well, this time, 8-4.

In first singles, Dallasta notched her fourth win of the season, 8-0 and is not 4-3 overall this season at that position.

Second singles, Rai also scored a win this time in a closer match, 8-6.  Odukwu earned her first singles win of the season at third singles, 6-1.

Rogers in fourth singles also scored a straight-sets victory, 8-0.  This is her second win of the season.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Gators are back in Colonial States Athletic Conference action this weekend at Keystone College.
