WESTMINSTER, Md. – Notre Dame field hockey was back in action Wednesday night as they traveled to local rival McDaniel College. The Gators took a lead in the second half, but the Green Terror outscored NDMU in the fourth quarter falling, 2-4.
After falling behind early in the first quarter, the Gators held McDaniel scoreless for the rest of the half.
In the third quarter, Notre Dame got on the board in the 36
th minute as sophomore
Kelsey Campbell scored off a breakaway fed by sophomore
Katie Hawkins. Campbell notched her first goal of the season, while Hawkins recorded her first assist.
Just under four minutes later, the Gators took a 2-1 lead when sophomore
Vanessa Dunn scored off a corner from sophomore
Maia Giafes. Both recorded their first goals and assists of the season.
After taking the lead in the third quarter, NDMU gave up three goals in the fourth to fall, 2-4.
The Gators had several good looks at the goal, with six of their seven shots being on goal. Giafes and sophomore
Hailey Lockard led the team with two shots each.

Fallon Katz posted six saves.
