Field Hockey Four-Game Win Streak Ends at Cedar Crest

BALTIMORE - Notre Dame of Maryland University field hockey team (5-9, 3-4 CSAC) played Cedar Crest College (6-8, 4-2 CSAC) on Saturday afternoon in a matchup with CSAC playoffs implications on the line. The Gators were held scoreless in a 6-0 defeat. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Gators and the Falcons fight for the early lead trading blows to a 0-0 draw after one period. Notre Dame leading scorer Vanessa Dunn got off two shots for near goals but Cedar Crest held the Gators off the board. 
  • In the second period, the Gators had a third chance at goal after a set-piece penalty corner from Alyson Geckle but Hailey Lockhard shot was just saved. 
  • The Falcons scored three goals to close out the first half up 3-0. Cedar Crest went on to score three more goals for a 6-0 finish. 

OF NOTE 
  • Notre Dame (Md.) drops to 3-11 against the Falcons all-time.
  • Dunn remains at the top half of the league with 10 goals and 26 points this season.
