BALTIMORE – Three Notre Dame of Maryland University standouts were included on the Colonial States Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll released on Monday, as Emma Alascia, Ciarra Bockstie and Natalie Newton all earned recognition.

Alascia totaled a career-high 10 points (3 G, 4 A), tied for the second most by a CSAC student-athlete this season, during the soccer team's 9-5 victory over Trinity Washington last Wednesday. She factored in seven of nine goals during NDMU's largest offensive output of the season while recording her second collegiate hat trick. Alascia's four assists were also the second most by a CSAC player on the year.

Bockstie and Newton were both big contributors during a pair of victories for the volleyball program, which increased its overall winning streak to 12 matches. Bockstie led the Gators at the net, totaling five blocks to go along with 12 kills and seven digs on the week. She supplied eight kills, all three of NDMU's blocks and three digs during Saturday's 3-1 comeback win over Rosemont, and added four kills, four digs and four blocks in a 3-0 sweep over Wilson last Wednesday. Bockstie currently ranks third in the CSAC in blocks per set (0.70).

Newton served as the primary instigator for NDMU's offense, leading the Gators with 33 assists while also registering 22 digs, four aces and four kills. She had a team-high 18 assists, a career-best 15 digs and three aces at Rosemont on Saturday, and she finished with 15 assists and seven digs against Wilson. Newton has recorded 10+ assists in 9 of 12 matches during NDMU's winning streak, and she has 3+ aces in seven contests during that stretch.

NDMU soccer is back in action on Wednesday night, traveling to Bryn Athyn for a matchup beginning at 6 p.m., while the volleyball program hosts Cedar Crest at 7 p.m. that same evening.
