Softball Drops Pair at Wilson to End Their Regular Season

BALTIMORE, MD – The Notre Dame of Maryland Softball Team (10-14, 7-9 CSAC) dropped the doubleheader against Wilson College (20-11-1, 12-2 CSAC) on Wednesday in the regular season finale. The Gators tied their single season record with most wins in a season (10).

Game 1 (Wilson 11-0)
  • Wilson opened up the game with a triple down the right field line to take a 3-0 lead.
  • NDMU could not contain Wilson as they went on to score 8 more runs to end the game.
  • Maci Lopez's 19 game hit streak was snapped in the loss.

Game 2 (Wilson 17-5)
Off Note
  • The Gators scored a total of 100 runs this season in conference play.
  • Leatherwood led the Gators with a .477 batting average and 94 strikeouts on the year. She now sits at 5th all time in batting average in NDMU history. Leatherwood had the best season performance sporting an all time best 3.48 era in program history as the leader of the rotation. She is amongst the leaders for batting average with a .500 and holds the highest on base percentage with a .630 in the conference. 
  • Kendall Snyder's single game 7 RBI performance and 32 total on the season broke the school records. She holds 2nd place in the conference in RBIs.
  • Newbold ended the season in 2nd place in RBIs with 28. She also led the team with 2 home runs.
  • Lopez has accumulated 97 hits in her career, tying 2nd place in school history. She now sits in 3rd place with a .414 career batting average. Lopez is now 4th in runs in school history with 66.
  • Miranda Burton's .367 batting average is 3rd best on the team this year. She leads the team with 131 putouts and has thrown 6 people out.
