CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Notre Dame of Maryland University's field hockey team began its 2022 season with a 9-0 defeat at Washington College on Thursday afternoon. Seven different players scored for the Shorewomen in the contest.

Harley Barton made 10 saves during her first collegiate game in goal for the Gators. She was one of three student-athletes for the visitors to make their collegiate debuts, joining Emma Huddler and Emily Bonnett.

Jam Hutt-Robles and Alexis Tackney scored two goals apiece to lead Washington College offensively.

NDMU's road matchup against Goucher College, originally scheduled for Tuesday, September 6, has been postponed to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 26. The Gators return to action on Saturday, September 10, hosting Drew University in their home opener at 1 p.m.
