BALTIMORE- The Notre Dame (MD) women's tennis team continued their strong start to conference play, soundly defeating Saint Elizabeth University by a score of 9-0 on Thursday, Apr. 13.
NDMU started off strong in doubles competition, with the team of
Mackenzie Lookingland and
Emma Mueller rolling to an 8-4 victory in the #1 doubles victory. In the #2 doubles match, the team of
Tam Truong and
Renee Rosales raced to an 8-0 victory. Closing out doubles, the team of
Anna Choudhary and
Nwanneka Udolisa earned an 8-6 victory.
Leading 3-0 entering singles play, the Gators looked to continue their momentum. Lookingland and Mueller were each pushed to a third set tiebreaker in their singles matches; however, each prevailed. In the #3 singles match Truong powered to dominate 6-0, 6-2 victory. Rosales and Udolisa controlled their singles matches each winning by a score of 6-0, 6-1. Finally, Choudhary closed out the victory, winning the #6 singles match by a score of 6-2, 6-2.
The Gators will play their third conference match of the week, this time hosting Cedar Crest College on Saturday, Apr. 15. The match is scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM.
