BALTIMORE- The Notre Dame (MD) softball team dropped two closely contested CSAC games to Saint Elizabeth University on Wednesday, Apr. 19. The Gators fell by a score of 2-1 in game one, before dropping the night cap 3-2.
GAME 1
The Gators (11-12 Overall, 4-5 CSAC) held the Eagles scoreless through the first five innings thanks to a great pitching performance from

NDMU tried to rally in the seventh inning with
Ciarra Bockstie leading off the inning with a single through the right side. Bockstie eventually worked herself into scoring position with two outs in the inning.
Candace Forgach-Aguilar hit a ball toward third, beating a throw to first and allowing Bockstie to score. The Gators could not complete the comeback, falling 2-1.
GAME 2
The Gators (11-13 Overall, 4-6 CSAC) got off to a better start in game two, scoring in the first inning.
Emma Livingston led off the inning with a single down the left field line, and then stole second to put herself in scoring position.
Miranda Burton then drove a single up the middle putting two runners in scoring position.
Bethani Newbold plated run hitting a hard ground ball up the middle that allowed Livingston to score. Later in the inning, Burton capitalized on a wild pitch, scoring to make the game 2-0.
Saint Elizabeth answered back, scoring three runs on two hits in the third inning to take a 3-2 lead. The Gators looked for an answer but could not get runner beyond second base. NDMU had one final chance in the bottom of the seventh inning, with Forgach-Aguilar lifting a double into left center field with one out in the inning.
