Russ joins the Notre Dame Field Hockey coaching staff as Head Coach in the 2018 season.

Russ comes to NDMU having most recently coached for the past four years for the Howard County Warhawks Club Team.

"We are excited to welcome Coach Russ to our Notre Dame Gator family" said Athletic Director, Renee Bostic. "Candice comes to us with a competitive student-athlete pedigree and strong recruiting and coaching experience with the Warhawks.  We look forward to this upcoming season with Coach Russ leading our fearless gators."

In her time with the Warhawks, Russ helped coach the Under 16's team to a bid to the National Indoor Tournament this past season.  From 2014-16, Russ assistant coached at local high school, Mt. DeSales Academy and was the Field Hockey Coach at The Key School in Annapolis, Maryland in 2014.  At the Key School, she led the team to their first number one conference ranking and championship appearance in over five seasons.

Russ played college Field Hockey at King's College where she was a three-year starter.  In her time playing at King's College, a NCAA Division III Institution, the Monarchs played in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom championship three times, winning in 2007.  She made 57 appearances for the Monarchs and scored 14 goals and posted two assists.

"I am so excited to be a part of the NDMU field hockey team.  I know we have a ton of opportunity to make incredible growth together this year, and I am just looking forward to what is store for us this season!" said Russ.
