Jackie Burr

Jackie Burr joins the Notre Dame tennis coaching staff as Head Coach for the 2019 season.

Burr comes to the Gators with a wealth of coaching and tennis administration experience at all levels from youth tennis to adults.

Currently, Burr is a fifth grade teacher at local Baltimore private school, The Bryn Mawr School where her responsibilities have stretched past the classroom.  Since 2015, Burr has also served as the Director of Tennis and varsity volleyball coach. 

Beyond the academic setting, Burr has spent significant time in the tennis realm working as a tennis manager and tennis professional at several locations.  Most recently, Burr was the shop manager and assistant tennis professional at Gibson Island Corporation.  Her responsibilities reached from designing and organizing marketing and client information to teaching private lessons and clinics for all ages. 

Prior her time at Gibson Island Corporation, Burr also served as a Head Tennis Professional at Hillendale Country Club and Bayside Resort.  In both locations, she oversaw clinics, camps, and other tennis classes.  She also helped to develop tennis programs and market various tennis program offerings.

Burr is a former Division III student-athlete, competing for Salisbury University from 2006-2010.  In her time with the Gulls, she was a three-year captain and earned seven all-conference recognitions for both her singles and doubles play.  After graduation, she was named to the Capital Athletic Conference Silver Anniversary Team, honoring the top 20 tennis players in the past 25 years.
