Woody begins his first season at the helm of the Notre Dame of Maryland University tennis program and becomes the 11th head coach in club history. Woody will look to improve a Gator squad that finished sixth in the Colonial States Athletic Conference in 2015.
“I am thrilled to welcome Coach Woody to the Gator Athletics family,” Athletic Director Erin Foley Said. “He brings years of tennis coaching experience and a passion for the game to our team. We look forward to watching the program continue to grow under his leadership.”
The Gators narrowly missed the conference postseason last year after finishing 7-5 overall and 5-5 in the CSAC, marking a five win improvement from 2014.
Aside from being a tennis fanatic for over 20 years, Woody also brings seven years of coaching experience to the club. Woody coached at Baltimore County Parks and Recreations this past year and before that, Terrence worked for Competitive Tennis Training Center, Citi Open Junior Team and Junior Team Tennis. In the past seven years, Woody has coached two top 40 players in the Mid Atlantic Section.
“I am looking forward to the upcoming tennis season and working with the team and inspiring the women to achieve their goals both on and off the courts,” said Woody.
Woody earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University before earning a Master’s of Business Administration at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
