Billy Wilkens was named the head coach of the Notre Dame of Maryland softball program in December 2025. He had previously served as the assistant coach and interim head coach during the spring 2025 season.
Wilkins came to NDMU from Marymount University where he served three years as an assistant coach. In Marymount’s first season of softball, Wilkens coached four All-Conference selections and one NFCA All-Region honoree (Samantha Cinotti). Cinotti also earned a place on the VaSID All-State Second Team.
Wilkens has been coaching since 2011 and has served as the assistant head softball coach at Mount De Sales Academy since 2016. Since 2018, he has served as the head coach for the 18-U A Gold Coast Hurricanes. In both positions, Wilkens was involved in all facets of running the teams from scouting, practice planning, and team-building.
