Gators Earn First CSAC Win of Season Against Rosemont

BALTIMORE, MD - Junior outside hitter Catherine Subrizi (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) pounded down 27 kills to help lead College of Notre Dame to its first Colonial States Athletic Conference volleyball victory of the season against Rosemont Monday evening. The Gators (4-16 overall/1-7 CSAC) were able to down the Ravens (5-14/0-9 CSAC) in four sets by scores of 21-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-23.

In addition to her 27 kills, Subrizi completed her double-double with 12 digs along with a service ace. Subrizi kept pace as the conference leader in kills, and is now averaging 3.97 kills per set. Junior teammate India Scott (Baltimore/Baltimore Poly) put down a season-high 16 kills on the evening and contributed nine digs. Junior Christina Kudrna (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) also recorded a season-high with 47 assists on the evening and added 12 digs.

The Gators were able to complete the four set victory despite making 11 service and five reception errors on the evening. Notre Dame hit for a collective .063 hitting percentage compared to Rosemont's .009 hitting percentage on the night.

Karen Boyle led the Ravens with nine kills and contributed 14 digs while Jessica DeMaskey added 19 digs on the evening.

Notre Dame will play three matches over the next five days, beginning with a 7 p.m. contest at local rival Stevenson University on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
