Notre Dame Rallies Past Hood

BALTIMORE, MD - For the second time this week, College of Notre Dame volleyball rallied to win a match at home. On Monday evening, the Gators rallied from a 1-0 hole to win 3-1 over Rosemont. Notre Dame found themselves down 2-0 to Hood Thursday evening, but came back and won the next three straight sets for the 3-2 win. Notre Dame improved to 5-17 with the win while Hood dropped to the same overall record as the Gators, 5-17, after the loss.

The Blazers took control of the match right from the start, earning a 25-21 first set win and came out on top in the second set, 25-23. The Gators rallied in part due to a strong team hitting performance on the evening. Notre Dame hit for a collective .246 hitting percentage on the night, rolling to 25-19 and 25-21 wins in sets three and four. Notre Dame breezed through the fifth set, taking it by a 15-8 score for the match victory.

Catherine Subrizi (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) led the Gators with 25 kills on the night. Teammate India Scott (Baltimore/Baltimore Poly) added 17 kills while making just five attack errors on the evening. Junior setter Christina Kudrna (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) handed out 40 assists to help pace the Gators to victory.

Notre Dame will look to win its third match of the week on Saturday against Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Keystone at home. Match time is set for 12 p.m.
