Volleyball Rolls Past Rosemont

Rosemont, PA – College of Notre Dame Volleyball defeats Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Rosemont College 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The Gators play was impressive over the course of four sets, registering 39 kills, 38 assists, 71 digs and five solo blocks. In the opening two sets College of Notre Dame jumped out to an early advantage and maintained that cushion for the remainder of the sets. The Gators won the first two sets 25-19 and 25-14 respectively.

The Ravens would challenge the Gators in the third set. College of Notre Dame and Rosemont were in a tight set from the opening points. Rosemont continued to remain within reach of the Gators the entire game and were able to pull out a 25-23 set win.

College of Notre Dame controlled the fourth set from the outset. The early set advantage was crucial for the Gators in picking up the victory because Rosemont would try to mount a late rally, but the Gators were just too strong.

Catherine Subrizi hit well on the afternoon win with 12 kills. Margie Maresca added eight kills and ten digs for the Gators. Setter Cory Santos assisted on 35 of College of Notre Dame’s 39 kills. Christina Kudrna and Amanda Sijera each finished with 12 digs.

College of Notre Dame improved to 18-10 overall and 7-4 in conference play with the win. The win secures the Gators the #6 seed in post season play. College of Notre Dame will travel to #3 seed Neumann University on Tuesday, November 2nd. The prior meeting between the two teams this season resulted in a 3-1 loss for the Gators.
