The Giants set the tempo for the first half from the opening tip-off. Keystone built an eleven point advantage in the first six and a half minutes with fast breaks and strong perimeter shooting. The Gators India Scott (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic) netted seven points while the Giants were held scoreless for four minutes. Over the final six minutes of the half Keystone extended their advantage and took a nineteen point lead into halftime, 32-13.
Notre Dame improved on both sides of the ball in the second half. The Gators used high pressure defense which forced the Giants to turn over the ball fourteen times. Notre Dame capitalized on Keystone’s turnover with increased offense play. The Gators strong second half play was not enough to surmount the lead the Giants built in the first half.
