Allentown, Pa. - October 1, 2011 - The Notre Dame of Maryland University volleyball team fell to Cedar Crest College, 3-0, and Washington College, 3-0, at Cedar Crest's tri-match in Lees Gymnasium.  

In the CSAC loss to the host Falcons (25-10, 25-20, 25-18), freshmen Marylu Ortiz (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino) and Lani Caldwell (Elkton/Rising Sun) continued their outstanding play for the young Gators, by combining for 12 of the Gators' 15 kills.

The Gators fell by scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-7 to the non-conference Shorewomen, again led by Ortiz and Caldwell. Nine of the team’s 12 kills and 10 digs came from the first-year duo, with classmate Tawny Cevora (Norfolk, Va. / Lake Taylor) also chipping in 11 digs for Notre Dame.

The Gators are now 2-10 overall, and are 1-3 in the league. Notre Dame hosts Goucher College in non-conference action on Tuesday, October 4 in the MBK Sports and Activities Complex.
