Hackettstown, NJ – The Centenary College Cyclones defeated College of Notre Dame basketball in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action 103-47.
Centenary College controlled play from the opening whistle taking a twenty point lead into the half. The Cyclones continued to extend their point margin over Notre Dame in the final twenty minutes of regulation. Strong defensive play by the Gators was not enough to disrupt the strong shooting from the Cyclones (52.5%). Notre Dame did dominate one area of play, free throw shooting.
After forty minutes of play the Gators went 10-for-15 from the charity stripe (66.7%). Cory Santos (Carlsbad, CA/Carlsbad) netted five of six attempts. Catherine Subrizi (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) was a perfect 3-for-3. India Scott (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic) and Lauren McCusker (Sparrows Point, MD/Sparrows Point) each converted one of two opportunities.
Santos led all scorers with 18 points, six rebounds and two assists. Subrizi contributed eleven points, two steals and a block. Scott added ten points, nine rebounds, two blocks and three steals for the Gators.
College of Notre Dame travels to Rosemont College on Monday evening for the first of two meetings this season.
