Gators Move Closer To Playoffs After Sweeping Rosemont

Box Score Baltimore, Md. --  Notre Dame of Maryland University moved closer to reaching the Colonial States Athletic Conference Playoffs after sweeping Rosemont College 3-0 in a CSAC match.

In the victory, freshman Cleaya Antes (Carson, Calif./California Academy of Math and Science) posted 10 aces, the seventh best performance in school history.  Senior Amanda Sijera (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) added six for a season high.

Senior Cortney Silvis (Boonsboro, Md./Hagerstown Community College) paced the team with 11 kills while junior Marylu Ortiz (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino) chipped in with 10 and freshman Taylor Combs (Columbia, Md./Atholton) contributed nine.  Junior Paige Kitchen (Hagerstown, Md./Hagerstown Community College) finished the night with 37 assists.

Antes also led the team with 11 digs to move her season total to 400 in her freshman campaign and is currently 16th in all of Division III.

With the win, the Gators move to one game ahead of Keystone College and will conclude their CSAC schedule Saturday by hosting Cedar Crest College.  Keystone still has three games to play in the league, hosting Cabrini College, Cairn University and Gwynedd Mercy University.  With a Gators win on Saturday, and one Keystone defeat, Notre Dame will earn the sixth seed and reach the CSAC Playoffs for the first time since the 2010 season.

Prior to Saturday's game with the Falcons, the Gators will honor seniors Silvis, Sijera, Cristina Aquia (Baltimore, Md./Institute of Notre Dame) and Queenstar Akrong (Frederick, Md./St. Johns Catholic Prep)
