Gators Fall in Crosstown Rivalry to Goucher

Box Score Baltimore, Md.  --  Notre Dame of Maryland University claimed the second set but were unable to come away with victory as the Gators fell to Goucher College 3-1 in volleyball action. 

Freshman Jaime Reyes (Yorba Linda, Calif.) led the Gators with 20 assists on the night, with two aces, and finished second on the team with nine digs.  Senior Marylu Ortiz (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino) paced the squad with 16 kills while adding seven digs to help the defense. 

Defensively, sophomore Cleaya Antes (Carson, Calif./California Academy of Math and Science) finished the night with 13 digs.  

After dropping the first set 25-14, Notre Dame rallied back to take the second set 25-23.  Unfortunately, the visiting Gophers come out of intermission strong to take the next two sets 25-7, 25-11 to take the 3-1 victory.  

With the loss, the Gators fall to 3-6 on the season and will now travel to Penn State University-Harrisburg for a non conference matchup on Saturday.
