Box Score Takoma Park, Md. -- The volleyball team for Notre Dame of Maryland University defeated nonconference rival Washington Adventist University 3-0 to collect their fifth-straight sweep. The win is also their second sweep over the Shock this season.
The Gators would win the match 25-12, 25-8, 25-11.
Sophomore
Ashley Pasker (Newark, N.J./University) paced the offensive attack with eight kills. Sophomore
Brooke Bowman (Garden City, Mich.) added seven while sophomore
Grace Park (Clarksville, Md./Atholton) chipped in with six. Sophomore
Jamie Reyes (Yorba Linda, Calif.) would contribute 15 assists, with sophomore
Stephanie Roche (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) aiding the effort with 11.
The Gators would finish with 18 aces, led by junior
Cleaya Antes' (Carson, Calif./California Academy of Math and Science) six. Freshman
Peyton Smith (Valley Lee, Md./Great Mills) posted a career-high five aces.
Defensively, Park ended the night with a team-high 11 digs, with Reyes and Antes contributing seven each. Roche would also add a solo block for the squad.
With the win, Notre Dame improves to 12-7 on the year and will return to action on Thursday as they head to Neumann University for an important Colonial States Athletic Conference clash. Neumann will enter the match at 11-17 on the season, 5-2 in the league, and will take on CSAC foe Rosemont prior to the Notre Dame match. Two Knights have achieved over 260 kills, while Kat Wolfe has notched 902 assists. Six players have reached more than 20 aces while two member of their team have posted over 300 digs.
