Box Score Baltimore, Md. -- The Notre Dame of Maryland University basketball team hosted Penn State Abington in their last of four consecutive, non-conference matchups to open the season.  Despite holding a lead in the second quarter, the Gators could not hold on as they fell to the Nittany Lions, 38-62.

Notre Dame was led by sophomore Zaria Comer (Leesburg, Va. / Tuscarora) who recorded her second double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds with one block, going 4-4 from the free throw line.  Junior Naimani Staley (Silver Spring, Md. / Blair) reeled in seven rebounds for the Gators with four points while freshman Peyton Smith (Valley Lee, Md./ Great Mills) added eight rebounds.  Freshman guard Justice Walrath (Severna Park, Md.) recorded an individual and team season high five steals while adding five points and five rebounds.  As a team, Notre Dame saw two season highs with 49 total rebounds and a free throw percentage of 66.7%.

The Gators open up conference play at home Wednesday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. against Rosemont.
