Team Effort Too Much For Cyclones

Box Score Baltimore, Md.  --  The full roster would see playing time as the Notre Dame of Maryland University volleyball team proved to be too much for Centenary College in the Gators opening Colonial States Athletic Conference match. 

Notre Dame would sweep the Cyclones 3-0, winning the sets 25-7, 25-15 and 25-11.  

Leading the offense was sophomore duo Grace Park (Clarksville, Md./Atholton) and Brooke Bowman (Garden City, Mich.) with nine kills each.  Sophomore Ashley Pasker (Newark, N.J./University) would add five more.  Sophomore Jamie Reyes (Yorba Linda, Calif.) chipped in with 30 assists while junior Cleaya Antes (Carson, Calif./California Academy of Math and Science) would finish with six aces.  

Defensively, Antes paced the team with 14 aces, with freshman Peyton Smith (Valley Lee, Md./Great Mills) adding 8.  Bowman contributed six digs and also finished with a solo block and three block assists.  Junior Cassidy Keller (Sparks, Md./Perry Hall) and sophomore Ashley Guy (Leonardstown, Md.) notched two block assists to aid the effort.

With the win, Notre Dame improves to 5-4 on the year and is 1-0 in league play.  On Tuesday, they will return to action by hosting Washington Adventist, and will return to CSAC-play on Wednesday by playing host to Cairn University.
