Box Score Baltimore, Md. -- Notre Dame of Maryland University captured their fifth-straight victory as they swept Colonial States Athletic Conference rival Cairn University. The Gators came away with the 3-0 win with set scores of 25-11, 25-7, 25-12.
Notre Dame was led by sophomore
Ashley Pasker (Newark, N.J./University), who powered the offensive attack with 11 kills. Sophomore
Jamie Reyes (Yorba Linda, Calif.) aided the effort with 19 assists. Junior
Cleaya Antes (Carson, Calif./California Academy of Math and Science) finished the night with nine aces. As a team, the Gators notched 19 total aces, with Reyes adding three while sophomores
Brooke Bowman (Garden City, Mich.),
Stephanie Roche (Perry Hall, Md.) and Pasker all chipping in with two each.
Defensively, the squad saw a defensive effort as eight players achieving atleast two digs and Antes pacing the team with five digs. Reyes and sophomore
Grace Park (Clarksville, Md./Atholton) put up four and Pasker, Roche, junior
Cassidy Keller (Sparks, Md./Perry Hall) and freshman
Peyton Smith (Valley Lee, Md./Great Mills) contributing three. At the net, bowman posted a solo block, and also added a block assist, as did Pasker, Keller and sophomore
Bobbi McDowell (Shady Side, Md./Bishop McNamara). With the win, the Gators improve to 7-4 on the season, and 2-0 in league play. They will return to action on Saturday as they travel to CSAC foe Marywood University looking to avenge last season's defeat in the CSAC Playoffs.
