Goucher Outlasts Gators

Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. – The Notre Dame of Maryland University volleyball team hosted local rival Goucher College Thursday night in their last non-conference game of the season.  The Gators would fall to the Gophers in four sets, 22-25, 25-17, 20-25, 24-26.

The Gators were led in kills by senior Cassidy Keller who recorded 12, hitting .276 for the match while also tallying eight digs.  Junior Bobbi McDowell and freshman Mary Marquez notched five kills each with McDowell registering three block assists.  Junior Jamie Reyes paced Notre Dame with 34 assists, adding four kills and four aces.  On the defensive end, senior Cleaya Antes posted 21 digs and now has 350 for the season with one regular season game remaining.  Antes, Marquez, and Reyes combined for 44 digs and the team finished the match with 70.  As a team, Notre Dame tallied 42 kills, their fourth match this season with 40 plus kills.

The Gators will host their final home game of the season Saturday at 1:00 p.m. against Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Gwynedd Mercy University.  Seniors Cleaya Antes, Margaret Pedersen, Cassidy Keller, and Stephanie Roche will be honored prior to the start of the game.  Notre Dame remains in playoff contention and a victory Saturday would secure the fifth seed in the CSAC Playoffs.
