Volleyball Playoff Bound Tuesday

SCRANTON, Pa. – The Notre Dame of Maryland University volleyball team heads to #4 Marywood University for the first round of the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs Tuesday.  The Gators are ranked fifth in the conference, their highest seeding in the CSAC since joining the conference in 2007.  This is also Notre Dame's fourth consecutive trip to the postseason.

Senior Cassidy Keller and freshman Kayleigh Davis lead the Gators with a combined 298 kills this season.  Keller posted a .520 hitting percentage in Notre Dame's last game of the season against Gwynedd Mercy Saturday, tallying 16 kills.  Junior Bobbi McDowell is hitting .226 this season which is good for eighth in the CSAC and is also ranked first for blocks per set with .690.  Senior Cleaya Antes currently has 370 digs this season, ranking her first in the CSAC for digs per set.  Antes was named to the CSAC Honor Roll for her performance last week.  Notre Dame is still ranked first in the NCAA for opposing team hitting with .037 and is also ranked second nationally in aces per set, with 3.55 per set. 

The Gators head into their game Tuesday with a 16-8 overall and 7-4 conference record.  Notre Dame will hold a sendoff event for the team starting at 12:45 p.m. outside MBK.
