BALTIMORE, Md. – The volleyball team remains unbeaten, as the Gators scored a 25-4, 25-7 and 25-3 win over Washington Adventist. With tonight's win, NDMU improves to 6-0 on the year.
Coming into their meeting with the Shock, the Gators ranked first in the country in aces per set (6.8), service aces (102) and opponent hitting percentage (-0.277), while sophomore Cleaya Antes ranked first and second in NCAA Division III with 2.25 aces per set and 27 service aces, respectively.
Antes' strong play carried over into tonight's match with the Shock, as the senior led the way with seven service aces and digs. Juniors Ricelle Taganas and Bobbie McDowell and freshman Kayleigh Davis tallied four kills apiece, while junior Stephanie Roche added 14 helpers.
The Gators held the Shock to just three kills through three games, as the club out-killed their opponents 23-3 in the tilt.
After a lengthy home stand, Notre Dame will travel to Hackettstown, N.J. to open CSAC play against Centenary (0-7). Following their match with the Cyclones, the Gators will face Manhattanville (3-1). The action is set to start at 12 p.m.
