Volleyball to Host Neumann Tonight

BALTIMORE, Md. – The volleyball team will look to add it's 10th win on the year, as it takes on conference foe Neumann University at MBK Court tonight at 7 p.m.

The Gators hold the second spot in the conference at 9-1 overall and 3-0 in the CSAC, while the Knights come in at 5-10 and 1-1 in the CSAC, good for seventh place. 

Despite their record, the Gators face a tough matchup in Neumann. Against No. 16 Eastern, the Knights were able to capture a 28-26 win in set two, before falling 3-1. Last night, Neumann scored a 3-1 win over Elizabethtown. Sophomore Rachael Hoffman led the club with 15 kills and eight blocks, while senior Nikki Collevechio registered 16 digs. Freshman Rachel Cray tallied a game high 42 digs. 

On the year, Collevechio ranks first in the CSAC with 226 digs, while Cray ranks second in the conference with 381 assists. Hoffman currently holds a league high 22 blocks and 34 block assists. 

The Gators have been dominate though it's first 10 games this season, having beat nine of their opponents in straight sets. Notre Dame's 5.43 aces per set and -0.153 opp. hitting percentage are good for first in NCAA Division III, while its 163.0 team service aces is good for fifth in the country. 

Notre Dame is coming off a pair of wins over Cairn and Clarks Summit. Through the two games, junior Jamie Reyes led the way with 51 assists to go along with eight digs and six kills. Against the Highlanders, junior Ricelle Taganas tallied 10 digs and six kills, while junior Bobbi McDowell and freshman Kayleigh Davis combined for 22 kills, 11 apiece. In the win over the Defenders, McDowell finished with five blocks and senior Cleaya Antes paced the Gators with 24 digs. 

Antes and Taganas rank first and fifth place in NCAA Division III with 1.61 and 1.04 aces per set, respectively. Antes' 37 service aces are good for ninth place in the country.
