CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Notre Dame traveled Wilson College on Thursday afternoon for their final game of the season. The Gators wanted to send their seniors
Meghan Conner and
Lilly Gordon off in style against the CSAC opponent.
The Gators started off hot with two shots in the first five minutes to get the offensive pressure going which led to a free kick by Connor in the 19th minute. Connor put in the set piece on her own with a beautiful, arching, bending shot to the upper far corner of the goal.
Only four minutes later on a perfect corner kick by freshman
Julie Hagis, junior
Loren Pardoe found the back of the net on an amazing header to put the Gators up 2-0.
The Phoenix battled back and scored in the 25 minute. The rest of the half remained scoreless even with chances from by Connor and freshman
Yessica Martinez.
Notre Dane brought the intensity out of the gate in the second half with great offensive play by up front by freshman Kayla Grube and
Haley Cook.
With the game close and time ticking away Wilson added pressure of their own offensively. The Gator defensive unit led by senior
Lilly Gordon and junior
Hannah Woodworth shut down the Phoenix Attack.
The Gators finished strong to earn their first conference win of the season.
