Volleyball Earns #1 Seed in CSAC

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Notre Dame volleyball team has clinched first place in the Colonial States Athletic Conference after securing a 3-0 victory Wednesday night against Bryn Athyn College.  For the first time in program history, the Gators have finished in the top three in the CSAC, earning their first- #1 seed.

Notre Dame rallied back from behind to take a 28-26 first set victory.  The Gators pushed through the next two sets (25-18, 25-22) to secure their 16th sweep of the season.

The Notre Dame middles led the Gators at the net both on the offensive and defensive ends.  Freshman Alyssa Kerns and sophomore Michaila Sheedy both led the Gators, posting 12 kills against the Lions.  This is Kerns third match in the last four to post 10 or more kills.

Blocking, the Gators posted eight, with Kerns finishing with two solos and two assists.  Sheedy finished the match with 1 solo block and three assists.

Senior Ricelle Taganas and junior Kayleigh Davis each recorded 10 kills.

Feeding the offense, junior Sara Few tallied 39 assists, tying her season high set this past weekend against Christendom.  She also posted three kills in the win.

Marquez also tallied 21 digs against the Lions, while Taganas and Davis combined for 24.  The team finished with 62.
