BALTIMORE, Md. – Notre Dame field hockey hosted Hood College this afternoon. The Gators were originally scheduled to face the Blazers to open the season, but due to weather cancelations, the game was pushed back over a month.
The Gators opened up scoring in the game, as junior
Jessica Wells posted her third goal of the season in the 14
th minute. Notre Dame out shot Hood 5-0 before landing their first goal of the game.
Senior
Megan Morales, just over 10 minutes later scored again for the Gators to take a 2-0 lead the 10 minutes left in the half. Freshman
Kelsey Campbell assisted in the score.
Notre Dame posted one more shot on goal to close out the half, but a save by the Blazer goalie kept the score a 2-0 going into halftime.
The Gators came out strong in the second half posting four more goals before allowing the Blazers to score their first and only goal of the game.
Four different players scored in the Gators' 6-1 win. Morales led the team with three goals, followed by Wells, sophomore
Keyeria Dawson, Campbell with one apiece. Campbell had another solid performance leading the team with three assists.

Notre Dame now has a three game win streak as they continue their Colonial States Athletic Conference play Saturday as they face Cedar Crest College in their second meeting of the season.
