Box Score CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Gators opened their 2018-19 season on the road Wednesday as they faced Washington College. Notre Dame got off to a slow start, but kept the score close through the first half. Washington College jumped out to a 13-point lead in the second half and the Gators could not recover eventually falling, 66-44.
Coming off the bench, freshman
Vanessa Dunn led the Gators in scoring posting nine points in her career debut. She went 3-for-7 from the floor and 2-for-6 from beyond the arc.
Newcomer
Jaya Green tallied seven points in her season debut, scoring six from the floor and one from the free throw line. She also reeled in five rebounds, while the team finished with 50.
Four for of Notre Dame's four returners scored in their season opener with sophomore
Adrianna Fletcher leading the pack with six. Sophomore
Keyeria Dawson, and seniors
Justine Mudiay and
Justice Walrath each posted five points.
On the defensive end, freshman
Daija Fitchett lead the Gators with 11 boards, with Dawson and Mudiay combining for 15. Fitchett also recorded a game-leading two blocks, while the Gators finished with seven steals.

Notre Dame has one day off before returning to action. On Friday night, the Gators will face Division I opponent University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) at the UMBC Event Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
