CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Notre Dame field hockey traveled to Wilson College for their second Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup of the season. In the rainy night game, the Gators posted their first score of the season, but eventually fell to the Phoenix, 7-1.
Notre Dame held Wilson scoreless through the first 14 minutes of play despite seven shot by the Phoenix.
The Gators went into halftime down, 2-0. Wilson scored five in the second half despite a strong game in goal for freshman Fallon Katz. She finished the game with 11 saves.
Freshman Licia Marcano in the 57
th minute posted Notre Dame's first score of the season off her rebounded saved shot.
Marcano led the team in shots with four shots on goal, while freshman Vanessa Dunn added three shots. Dunn currently leads the team in shots this season with 16.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Gators will have a quick turnaround as they continue their CSAC schedule Saturday. They will host Keystone College for their first "home" game of the season. The game will be played at Friends School at noon.
