Fitchett Scores Career High in Gator Victory at Centenary

BALTIMORE, Md. – In their third conference game of the week, the Notre Dame basketball team traveled to Centenary University.  The Gators took a lead in first and did not let up defeating the Cyclones for their fifth conference win, 56-46.

The Gators had two players post double-digits in scoring led by freshman Daija Fitchett with a career-high, 14 points.  She went an impressive 7-12 from the floor, her best performance this season when recording over three field goals.  Fitchett also posted four rebounds and two of the team's four blocks against the Cyclones.

Sophomore Jaya Green tallied 12 points for the Gators, while also racking up seven defensive rebounds and a game-leading, six steals.  Green shot 50% from the floor, while the Gators had six players shoot 40% or better against the Cyclones.

Sophomore Adrianna Fletcher paced the team in rebounds, reeling in 10, tying a career high, previously set against Immaculata in December. Fletcher also finished with seven points and two steals.
From the bench, sophomore Keyeria Dawson posted seven points and seven rebounds for Notre Dame.

As a team, the Gators went 25-59 from the floor.  At 42.4%, this is Notre Dame's best shooting performance this season.

The Gators are now 8-7 overall and 5-2 in Colonial States Athletic Conference play.  Today's win moves them into second place in the CSAC.  The team's five wins ties the most conference wins for the program since the 2016-17 season with the second half of their conference schedule left to play.
