Field Hockey Reaches CSAC Milestone in 2-1 Win Over Lancaster Bible

BALTIMORE, Md. – In their second Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup of the season, Notre Dame field hockey team downed Lancaster Bible College, 2-1.

In their third consecutive 2-1 decision of the season, the Gators were on the attack first as sophomore Vanessa Dunn scored off a penalty stroke in the second quarter.

NDMU held their lead for 12 minutes scored the equalizer late in the third quarter.

Sitting tied at one apiece, both Lancaster and Notre Dame both had several opportunities to score, but were in a stalemate.

With six minutes left in regulation, sophomore Katie Hawkins posted the game-winning-goal, assisted by Dunn.  This was her third goal of the season and third assist for Dunn.

In goal for the Gators, Fallon Katz tallied three saves.

The Gators advance to 2-0 in the CSAC and are the only team with two conference wins.  This season marks the second time in program history that the Gators have posted two conference wins since joining the CSAC in 2007.  NDMU has four conference games remaining this season.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Field hockey will now have over a week of play off from competition.  They will return to action on October 19 against CSAC opponent Bryn Athyn where seniors will be honored on Senior Day.  This will also mark the team's final regular season home game of the season.
