Notre Dame Posts First CSAC Win

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Gators hosted Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent, Cedar Crest College on Saturday afternoon.  In their season opening conference game, Notre Dame came out on top of the Falcons defeating them, 81-65.
 
For the first time this season, all five starters for the Gators finished the game with double-figure points.  Sophomore Daija Fitchett finished first in scoring for NDMU for the second consecutive game, posting 19.  She had a double-double, also finished the game with a game-high 15 rebounds. 
 
Freshman Ariana Alleyne tallied 17 points in the game, while junior Adrianna Fletcher added a season high 15 points. 
 
Also posting a double-double against the Falcons, freshman Ayana Brim finished the game with 14 points and 13 rebounds.  Just one point shy of her career-high, freshman Jaylah Lewis posted 12 points, half of which came from the free-throw line. 
 
Defensively, the team finished with 16 steals, led by Lewis, Fitchett, and Fletcher with four steals apiece.  Fitchett also tallied three blocks, while Lewis and Alleyne paced the team with four assists.
 
In their first conference win of the season, the Gators posted the highest free-throw percentage, shooting 61.9% for the game.  Notre Dame was at the free-throw line 42 times, the most this season. 
 
WHAT'S NEXT?
Next week, the Gators will face two more CSAC opponents.  On Wednesday, they travel to Wilson College and then are back home on Saturday against Clarks Summit University.
