Fitchett Scores Career High in Gator Victory Over Bryn Athyn, 58-44

BALTIMORE, Md. – Earlier this week, Notre Dame basketball clinched their first playoff berth since joining the Colonial States Athletic Conference in 2007, holding an 8-5 CSAC record going into their game on Saturday. 

Hosting Bryn Athyn College in their second meeting of the season, the Gators and Lions battled through the first half, but NDMU pulled away in the third and posted their ninth conference win, 58-44.

Freshman Daija Fitchett posted her third consecutive double-double in the game, her fourth for the season.  She led the team, scoring a career-high 21 points, going 10-for-17 from the floor.  She also reeled in a team-leading, 12 rebounds, adding four steals and three assists.

Sophomore Keyeria Dawson also had an impressive game of the Gators, notching eight points, while leading the team in both assists and steals, with five and six, respectively.  Sophomore Adrianna Fletcher also had valuable minutes for the Gators, reeling in seven rebounds, while posting three assists and two steals. 

As a team, Notre Dame posted season highs against the Lions as they recorded 18 assists and 18 steals.  In the game, six different players posted at least one steal and one assists.  Senior Justice Walrath in the last six games for NDMU is averaging 4.8 assists per game, finishing with four tonight.  She also finished with six points, doing two three-pointers.

Freshman Vanessa Dunn tallied nine points in the win, downing one of the team's five three-pointers and adding three field-goal.  She also finished with eight rebounds, three on the offense boards.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Gators will travel to Wilson College on Wednesday in their final CSAC road game of the season.  They will come home on Saturday in their final regular season game, where they will honor seniors Walrath and Justine Mudiay.
