Three Named to CSAC Weekly Honors in Final Week

ROSEMONT, Pa. – In the final week of Colonial States Athletic Conference weekly honors, the Notre Dame Gators had three student-athletes recognized from three different sports.

In her second recognition of the season, sophomore Taylor Epps was named the CSAC Track Athlete of the Week.  Epps had a standout performance at the Blue Jay Tune Up on Saturday, the team's final meet of the regular season.  In the 100m, Epps qualified for the finals, finishing her first run in 13.20, setting a personal record.  In the finals, she placed fourth finishing 13.32.  In the 200m, Epps broke her own school record placing sixth in 27.22.  Earlier this month, she was named to the CSAC Honor Roll, for her first CSAC recognition.

Sophomore Jodie Bronushas was also recognized by the conference this week, being named to the CSAC Honor Roll.  Last week, the Gators played in four doubleheaders to close out their 2019.  In those eight games, Bronushas went 16-for-26 at the plate, while adding 23 strikeouts from the circle.  Against Clarks Summit in the team's season finale doubleheader, she notched her first home runs of the season, hitting two against the Defenders.

Also earning recognition for her play last week, was senior Megan Morales who notched her third CSAC Honor Roll recognition and fifth honor of the 2019 season.  In the team's 18-1 victory over Rosemont, she led the team in goals, posting nine.  She also added one assist, leaving her one-point shy of the 300 career point mark.  Morales and teammate senior Kirstin McGee finished the regular season on top of the CSAC in goals per game and assists per game, respectively.  They are also number one and two in the conference in points, combining for 182 this season.

Track and lacrosse are back in action this week for the CSAC Postseason.  On Wednesday, the lacrosse team travels to Bryn Athyn College for the first round of the CSAC Playoffs.  On Saturday and Sunday, the track team will race at Keystone College in the Track & Field Championships.  If the lacrosse team nabs a victory over the Lions on Wednesday, they could also be facing Keystone College in the CSAC Championships.
